And it's off! Zoom zoom zoom!

Oh no! The postman lost your letter. Please try again.

I was born in England, near Hastings, but grew up in the South of France. I met, fell in love with and married my now husband after returning to the UK. We now live in Belgium where our daughter, Amélie, was born in 2005.

I am a lawyer by profession but like pretending to be a photographer in my spare time. I first became properly interested in photography shortly after Amélie's birth but that interest has since developed into a bit of an all-consuming passion. I love trying to capture the happiness she brings me and her uninhibited wonder at the world that surrounds us. I don't want to forget a single moment of this incredible journey.

I shoot with a digital Canon SLR camera and edit my pictures in PhotoShop. If you have any questions about my pictures, please don't hesitate to leave me a comment and I'll do my best to help. That being said, I know I still have lots and lots to learn so constructive feedback is really appreciated.

Anyway, that's enough about me. How are you?

(the pictures of me in the blond wig were taken by Tara Leigh, an inspiration and someone I am lucky to be able to call a friend - give her site a visit, you won't be disappointed! - and my logo was designed by the fabulous Matthew Nelson)

Winter Wonderland

I promised some pictures of the Brussels Christmas market so here they are. I’m not very good at this kind of thing but hopefully you still get a sense of the twinkle-fest that this thing is. And I have a month to practice and get something better before they dismantle the whole thing again at...

Autumn Collections

I promised myself, when I started this blog, that I would post something at least once a week. And already I have failed. Boo Cass! BOO! Oh well, better late than never. My excuse, by the way, is that I’ve been traveling a lot for work and that we’ve had my parents to stay meaning...

I love her

I’ve caught the dreaded lurgy from someone or somewhere so, despite my amazing birthday present, there’s been no photo-taking for me for the last couple of days… Instead, here’s one my favorite pictures from this year.

I just love this picture: it’s Amélie wearing a crown she made with some of the craft stuff she got...

It’s my birthday…

It’s my birthday and I’ll play with my camera all day long if I want to! Yes, today I reached the grand old age of 33. Amélie woke me up with a cuddle, then Hanno got up to go and buy our favorite breakfast treat: craquelin (Belgian sugar bread). Amélie and I sat in bed...

Splish Splash

During last week’s half term, we had been planning a trip to Ostend to visit Grandma Claire. But with Amélie being down with the flu, we had to cancel. So we went today instead. It was cold. Amélie loved it. She’s a bit of an ice queen. She hates wearing jumpers or coats, even during...

Living

Hoorah! Today the sun shone. And shone. And shone. We tried to rent a car for the day so we could zip into the forest for a walk but all the cars were already fully booked so, undeterred, we set out on foot. Not necessarily to go to the forest, just to get into the...

Challenging

Most of my pictures tend to be of Amélie. And who can blame me? Sometimes though I need a bit of a kick up the bum. I need to try something different that pushes me to learn a new technique or a new processing method. So yesterday, Han suggested we go for a quick evening...

Autumn in Brussels

Autumn came crashing down on us this year. And it seems to be in a very bad mood. I think it’s threatening to turn into winter before we’re quite ready: grey clouds, howling gales and bitterly cold rain that doesn’t just fall but literally pellets down as if driven by more than mere gravity. But...
