And it's off! Zoom zoom zoom!

Oh no! The postman lost your letter. Please try again.

I was born in England, near Hastings, but grew up in the South of France. I met, fell in love with and married my now husband after returning to the UK. We now live in Belgium where our daughter, Amélie, was born in 2005.

I am a lawyer by profession but like pretending to be a photographer in my spare time. I first became properly interested in photography shortly after Amélie's birth but that interest has since developed into a bit of an all-consuming passion. I love trying to capture the happiness she brings me and her uninhibited wonder at the world that surrounds us. I don't want to forget a single moment of this incredible journey.

I shoot with a digital Canon SLR camera and edit my pictures in PhotoShop. If you have any questions about my pictures, please don't hesitate to leave me a comment and I'll do my best to help. That being said, I know I still have lots and lots to learn so constructive feedback is really appreciated.

Anyway, that's enough about me. How are you?

(the pictures of me in the blond wig were taken by Tara Leigh, an inspiration and someone I am lucky to be able to call a friend - give her site a visit, you won't be disappointed! - and my logo was designed by the fabulous Matthew Nelson)

Autumn Collections

I promised myself, when I started this blog, that I would post something at least once a week. And already I have failed. Boo Cass! BOO! Oh well, better late than never. My excuse, by the way, is that I’ve been traveling a lot for work and that we’ve had my parents to stay meaning that the computer room became their bedroom and out-of-bounds for a while. But my absence has given me time to play with my luuurvely new lens. I have taken a gazillion pictures of nothing (and when I say nothing, we’re talking bog-roll holders, floor-boards and, if I was feeling a little adventurous, the corner of our microwave) but I have also taken a few pretty pictures of some old shells and pebbles I had collected for Amélie and, last weekend, I even managed to take her (the lens) out for a walk. My did I feel grand with such a fancy piece of bling hanging round my neck! And oh wow! She takes the most gorgeous pictures! I’m still trying to get used to how close everything looks compared to my old 30mm lens so I keep on chopping off heads willy-nilly but still… I am in LOVE.

carrying service

This, for your information, is Amélie trying to get Hanno to carry her. We dispensed with her buggy quite some time ago because it was such a pain on the cobbles around here (not to mention trying to get on and off the old trams!) but she has replaced wheels with an uncanny ability to climb up people and attach herself barnacle-style to their sides… At this rate, we’ll still be carrying her when she’s 21. I’ll have her in my arms while Han struggles to balance her boyfriend on his shoulders. It could happen!

Oh, and here she is again with some leaves.

Winter fans

Next up: some pictures of the Brussels Winter Wonderland (Christmas market). It opened tonight and I was out there with my camera like a shot. Let’s see if I can post something before the weekend is up… You are allowed to tickle me if I fail.
